Howdy!!

hmmmm alright lets see what happened this week!! sorry this is going to be a quickly again because we are going to the Natural History Museum downtown today!!!!! best part is usually it cost $20 for the general admission...but for whatever reason..missionaries get in for $7!!!! should be the best!!

this week was full of new faces...we met new prepared people that want us to teach them, i went on exchanges to the english area (it was so weird...went inside a house instead of going to apartments for the first time in 6 months..), and random people on the street were stopping us like crazy! asking for prayers and money..we gave them half of what they asked for ;) after praying with this one guy named Vergil at a stop light he goes "i dont know why i just asked you to do that (pray) but i feel realllll good!!!!!! at least he felt the spirit!

we had another cool experience when we were walking around a complex and i saw a man walk by..stopped him..chatted for a second and found out that his mom was really sick in guatemala and that he has been really worried and scared for her...we were able to say a prayer with him right then and there to bless both him and his mom cope with the sickness :) then, through teary eyes he invited us to come teach him!!!

another miracle....about a month ago, when we were visiting a less active her friend was over and ended up asking why there are so many churches...taught lesson one about the restoration..gave him a book of mormon....but then hadn't seen him since! he texts us back once to tell us that he had been reading in the book of mormon and that it was really interesting, but other than that we had no contact with him...despite our millions of calls and texts.....this week when we were planning, we were going through the lists of people and we were going to "drop" him..aka take a break from inviting him and shift some of our focus to other people...but we felt like we should text him one last time.....he ended up calling us and inviting himself to church! he came to church, stayed all three hours, and then invited himself to come next week!! when i asked if we could see him befor, he said "of course! call me any day and we can meet up!" THIS GUY IS THE BOMB!!!!! it's experiences like these that i realize all of this is the Lord's work...HIS timing...Yovany is sooo prepared and i cant wait to bring him unto the TRUTH!

oh guess what?! we should be having a wedding soon....found out carolina and her "esposo" aren't technically married...so we will get them married and then have ourselves a baptism! cant wait for their sealing in a little more than a year from now!!!! (confession...haven't met her husband yet...but i'm sure it'll all work out...pray please? haha)
HAVE THE BEST WEEK!
love you all so much!!

took conehi to see a baptism!!

LAST WEEKS PDAY ADVENTURES...we didnt actually go inside any museums last week..but we had a blast walking all around the museum district in downtown!

SEVEN MONTHS

HAPPY VALENTINES DAYYYYYYY

just realized today is my SEVEN MONTH MARK?! i think i say this every month...but time is flyying out here...for real.

I LOVE MY NEW COMP!!!!! her name is Hermana Whitehead from American Fork, Utah! something that blew my mind is she graduated from high school in 2014..wait what? you best believe i felt ancient when she told me that!! she didnt speak any spanish before the mission, but she catches on really quick! super happy, quick to laugh..we get along just fine ;) already feel like ive known her my whole life!

i need to be better about writing things down before i email because i get in here and im literally like "shoot...what happened this week?" hmmmmmm here's something! we were knockin some doors, doing some contacting when these three boys hollered at us "yall new here?" "no..we are just visiting..becasue we are missionaries...etc..and we are here to teach people....etc etc" "cool. can yall teach us?" "SURE!" so we taught them a quick lesson..and then i asked one of the little boys if he spoke spanish and he said yes! he invited us to meet his family and start teaching them!! gave us his house number and told us to come back at 3pm the next day!!! in my head i was like "saweeet! thanks for handing over all of your info! but wait shouldnt stranger danger be a thing? like im not gonna do anything weird but i cant promise how the next guy is gonna act..." regardless, we are super excited to be teaching this new family and will definitely keep you posted on how things go!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY BTW! my comp and i decided to treat ourselves for dinner for the occasion...haha..asked a guy on the street for a recommendation and i guess he thought we were drowning in money because we walked in the referred restaurant and walked right back out because there is no way im paying $16 for bread-any way you slice it!! luckily there was a sketchy lookin Indian restaurant next door that looked promising..and at least up our price alley haha it ended up being AMAZING!!!! all of the other customers looked at us like we were aliens and kept asking us how we liked the food....which was AMAZING!!!!!!! they had the chicken tikka missala thing that we get at Bombay house?? sooo goood!!!! the customers looked at us even weirder when i started talking to our server in spanish! carlos from mexico is now an investigator ;) moral of the story? sometimes you gotta go to sketchy lookin indian restaurants to find new people to teach!! NOT EVEN COMPLAINING!!!

anyway, i hope yall have a blessed week! miracles happen ON THE DAILY!! dont forget to notice ;)

otra vezzzz

buenas tardes familia y amigos!!!!

So on Thursday we got a call from President... it went a little like this

"hello, how are you doing? is this hermana hull?"
"great thanks! and yes it is."
"good. hermana hull the Lord has called you to train again next transfer....oh and be sister training leader. you up for it? we just dont want to give you an easy time...but dont worry, we have a lot of faith in you!"

hahahhaa my mission president has a GREAT sense of humor!! so looks like im staying here at least one more transfer (but most likely too for training purposes), getting a brand-spankin new missionary, and sister training leader-ing!!! LETS GOOOOO! i am actually pretty stoked about it! ill miss hermana endicott for sure...but i am excited for her! she really wants to see more of the mission..especially some of the farther out areas because her dad actually served down there like twenty years ago...she has this vision of finding people her dad taught and baptized and making sure they are still active or reactivating them! how cool is that??

i gotta keep this brief because i am running out of time...but two cool things real quick!
1. so we have just started teaching a husband and wife from Iraq (i believe i mentioned that last week) and the other day the member from the English ward that speaks arabic was actually able to come with us and translate a little bit!!! but the crazy part was...I COULD FOLLOW THEIR CONVERSATION IN ARABIC!!!!!! they would chat back and forth for a sec and then brother tennsmyer would turn to us to explain what happened...but i would be like "you were talking about <this> right?" "what the..yeah! how did you know that?" "i have NO IDEA!!" i mean i already have a testimony of the whole "gift of tongues" thing...but now im a believer in "gift of interpretation of tongues"!!! IT WAS THE COOLEST!

2. yall should read the talk by sheri dew's talk she gave at a womens conference at a BYU devotional or something? called "Sweet above all that was sweet" or whatever that scripture in 1 nephi 8 says haha it is a reallllyyyy good talk in which she explains grace!!! i have been studying grace a lot lately and it is AMAZING!!! a scripture she shares in the begining of her talk that hit home for me is Psalms 84:11 "For the Lord God is a sun and shield : the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly." aka God CAN'T NOT bless us when we are "walk[ing] uprightly" aka keeping the commandments...he HAS to give us all good things!!

love you all a million! happy valentines day! yall know how ill be spending mine ;)..........

feliz febrero!!

weather in houston right now? not too shabby!

HAPPY FEBRUARY!!!!! hope everyone enjoyed the superbowl! definitely didnt even know that happened until today...where am i?

so some highlights for the week:

*we were lucky enough to borrow the elders car one night to help out the other sisters in their area...and when we were walking to the bus stop after dropping the elder's car off...a man rolled up at the stoplight on a bike..so naturally i told him i liked his bike..and somehow that sparked a conversation that somehow got tied into the gospel and somehow i ended up giving him a pass-along card with our number on it just in time to then run across the street to catch the bus! about an hour later we got a call..BIKE GUY!! he called asking if he knew a place where he could buy a bible...hahah please Abel (Bike guys name) we can getcha a bible FOR FREE! found out he is technically in the elders area..so we handed him over to them...but he came to church on sunday and sat by me! he was feeling the spirit BIG TIME! at church he told me that before he came to america (did i mention he is fresh outta mexico?) he had got into some bad stuff and realized he had "lost God's way" and that he had been praying for God to put someone in his path to help him find God's way again...and BOOM "i like your bike" consider God's way FOUND! the elders said that when they taught him the first lesson afterwards he told them he was hungry..they thought he was going to ask for money from the church to provide food for him or something..but instead he goes "tengo hambre de oir la palabra de Dios!" aka his hunger is to hear to word of God!! THIS GUY IS A GEM!

*we felt pretty strongly that an investigator named margarita could be baptized this saturday. she has been investigating the church since 2010 and KNOWS the church is true! she is scared of change though and has been catholic forever...so thats been a little bit of a struggle...but on saturday we decided we were going to go visit her and not leave until she committed to accept the gospel completely, take a leap of faith, and be baptized! when we got to her apartment no one was home...we waited for about an hour just contacting and teaching anyone that walked by...then remembered sometimes on saturdaynights she goes to a mass at a little chapel just down the street! so we walked down the street to the little chapel looking for margarita..thinking back on it..how weird was it of us to go looking for a lady in one church so that we could commit her to be baptized in a different one hahaha #dowhateverforthetruth
she wasnt in her little chapel so we walked back to her apartment to try again....no one home...BUT we met her neighbors from iraq that only speak arabic and very very broken english...they ended up inviting us inside and making us dinner! the food was UNREAL! Ahlam and her husband are refugees from bahgdad (spelling?)...there son was shot and killed just because they are christians...how crazy is that? we had an awesome lesson on God's love for us and ended up singing I am  Child of God for them :) they told us to come back every day to eat with them and teach them more! needless to say, we are getting arabic pamphlets and bringing a member from the english ward who speaks arabic! along with learning arabic by pointing at things and saying "english-chair, arabic-?" trying to really test out this gift of tongues thing;)  before you know it we will have an Arabic branch in Houston, TX!! i mean why not?

i promise more things happened this week..but i am really struggling to remember! (this is why i write things down) transfers are next week so stay tuned for any changes! love you all something awful!!
ps if you have the chance to read "Our Search for Happiness" by M. Russel Ballard--do it. yes, ive only read the intro but i already love it!!

paz y bendiciones! que Dios les cuida!!!

one of the members named EDDY made me this homemade soup stuff! SOOOO GOOD!! just realized a good chunk of this email was about food in one way or another....whoops! the motto here? "go big or go home..OR GO HOME BIG!!" haha just kidding...?
